As an AI Agent Development Intern / Working Student, you will work directly with IT/OT experts and business stakeholders to design, build, test, and improve AI agents using Microsoft Copilot and the Microsoft 365 ecosystem. This is a unique opportunity to gain practical experience with enterprise AI technologies while contributing to real-world solutions that improve productivity, knowledge access, and operational excellence. Your work will help shape how AI is adopted across a highly regulated pharmaceutical manufacturing environment. The role structure and employer branding elements align with current Novartis job posting guidance and templates. **Part-time role - 24 hours/week** **Key Responsibilities** As part of the local IT/OT and Digitalisation team, you will: * Design, configure, and test AI agents using Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, and related Microsoft 365 technologies. * Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities where AI agents can improve processes, knowledge management, and decision-making. * Support the development of prompt libraries, workflows, and automation solutions using Microsoft Power Platform technologies. * Analyze business processes and translate user requirements into scalable AI-driven solutions. * Assist in validating AI agent performance, usability, and reliability through structured testing and user feedback. * Support data analysis activities to identify trends, opportunities, and improvement areas. * Create user documentation, training materials, and demonstrations to promote AI adoption across the site. * Work closely with IT, OT, Quality, Engineering, and Manufacturing teams to ensure solutions align with business requirements and compliance expectations. * Stay informed about emerging AI, Copilot, and automation capabilities and contribute ideas for future digital innovation initiatives. * Contribute to a culture of continuous improvement, experimentation, and responsible AI adoption. **Essential Requirements** * Currently enrolled in the final year of a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, Engineering, Business Informatics, Digital Transformation, or a related field. * Strong interest in Artificial Intelligence, Generative AI, and digital technologies. * Basic understanding of Microsoft 365 technologies and cloud-based solutions. * Knowledge of data analysis, process mapping, or automation concepts. * Experience with programming, scripting, or low-code/no-code tools through academic projects, internships, or personal initiatives. * Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills. * Excellent communication and collaboration skills. * Fluency in English. **Desirable Qualifications** * Experience with Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, Power Platform, Power Automate, Power Apps, or Microsoft Azure services. * Familiarity with prompt engineering, AI agent design, or chatbot development. * Understanding of manufacturing, pharmaceutical, engineering, or regulated industry environments. * Experience working with structured and unstructured data sources. * Knowledge of responsible AI principles and human-centered design approaches. * German language skills are considered an advantage. **What You Will Learn** During this assignment, you will have the opportunity to: * Work with some of the most advanced enterprise AI technologies available today. * Gain practical experience building AI agents that deliver measurable business value. * Collaborate with experienced IT/OT professionals, engineers, and business leaders. * Develop skills in AI solution design, automation, data analysis, and stakeholder management. * Understand how digital transformation and AI are implemented within a global pharmaceutical manufacturing organization. * Build a professional network within Novartis and gain exposure to real-world innovation projects.
