AI Engineering Intern

📍 Dubai, UAE · Hybrid · Internship ([3 to 6] months) · Sharq **About Sharq** Sharq builds sovereign, specialist AI for enterprises and governments across the GCC and MENA. We post-train and serve models tailored to the region’s languages, regulations, and infrastructure, so banks, telecoms, insurers, and public-sector organisations can deploy AI they actually control, on their own terms and inside their own borders. We’re an early-stage team, which means as an intern you’ll do real work on real systems, not side projects. **What you’ll do** * Help build and test pipelines for data processing, fine-tuning, and evaluation of LLMs, with a focus on Arabic and regional use cases * Contribute to internal tools, APIs, and demos used with enterprise clients * Research and benchmark open-source models and frameworks, and share what you find with the team * Write clean, documented code and learn production engineering practices from the founding team * Join customer and product discussions to see how AI gets deployed in regulated industries **What we’re looking for** * Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field * Strong Python skills and a solid grasp of programming fundamentals * Familiarity with machine learning or LLMs through coursework, projects, hackathons, or open-source contributions * Curiosity, initiative, and the ability to learn quickly in a fast-moving environment * Clear communication and a willingness to ask questions **Nice to have** * Experience with PyTorch, Hugging Face, LangChain, or similar tools * Exposure to cloud platforms or Docker * Arabic language skills * A GitHub profile or portfolio showing things you’ve built **What we offer** * [Paid] internship with hands-on mentorship from the founders * Hybrid setup: [3] days a week in our Dubai office * Real responsibility and visible impact at an early-stage AI company * A strong reference and the potential for a full-time offer for outstanding interns * [Flexible hours around university schedules, other perks] **How to apply** Apply via LinkedIn, or send your CV and a link to a project you’re proud of to **[** **[email protected]** **]** .
