Generative AI Internship for Scientific Data
Role Description
**What Awaits You Every Day At Quobly**
Based in the heart of the French Alps, Quobly builds on more than 15 years of research in quantum computing.
We are developing a silicon spin-qubit quantum computer, with the ambition of making this technology practical, scalable and capable of addressing real-world challenges.
**Quobly offers you the opportunity to help shape the future of quantum computing: join our Software team and explore the potential of generative AI applied to real scientific data.**
The internship
As part of the Software team, you will spend six months working with our physicists and engineers on a topic at the crossroads of generative AI, computer vision and quantum physics.
Your goal will be to develop methods that generate realistic, physically relevant scientific data and help bridge the gap between simulations and experimental measurements
**Technical Challenges**
* Study physics-based simulators and analyse the differences between simulated and experimental data.
* Explore relevant approaches to image generation, synthetic data and domain adaptation.
* Develop Python pipelines for data preparation, model training and evaluation.
* Train and compare different models on GPUs, using PyTorch or an equivalent framework.
* Work with physicists and engineers to assess the realism and scientific consistency of the results.
* Integrate the selected prototype into existing analysis tools and document the results, limitations and next steps.
**You Are Special Because**
* You are in the final year of an engineering degree or completing a Master’s degree in AI, data science, computer science, computer vision, physics or a related field.
* You are proficient in Python and have a solid foundation in machine learning or deep learning.
* You care about code quality and can produce code that is readable, structured, maintainable and reproducible.
* You are curious, rigorous and comfortable analysing complex problems and testing different approaches.
* Experience with PyTorch, computer vision, generative models, synthetic data or Git would be an advantage.
* Prior knowledge of quantum computing is not required: your ability to learn and your drive to build will make the difference.
**Working at Quobly also means**
* Working in Grenoble, home to some of the fastest-moving tech and industrial companies around, and a great base camp for a wide range of activities from outdoor and mountain sports to arts and culture.
* Grenoble offers an affordable lifestyle, ensuring you can plan for a comfortable future while advancing your career with us.
* The opportunity to develop in-demand skills alongside the best researchers in their fields.
* A collaborative work environment and a company culture where trust is paramount and where individual contributions are recognized.
* Presenting at international conferences to share our latest results.
* Work-life balance, with a standard package of 213 workdays per year.
* Work from home up to four days per week, depending on the position.
* Employer contribution to public transportation (75% covered) passes and human-powered mobility solutions.
