**About the role**
L.E.K. Consulting is looking for a proactive, enthusiastic and service-oriented **Service Desk Analyst Intern** to join our IT team for a **6-month internship starting 16 November 2026**.
This is an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional IT environment, supporting colleagues across the firm and developing practical technical, troubleshooting and customer service skills.
**What is the role like?**
--------------------------
This is a hands-on, people-focused internship where you'll play an important part in helping our colleagues make the most of the technology they use every day.
Working as part of L.E.K.'s Service Desk team and reporting to the Regional Service Desk Team Lead, you'll help provide first-line IT support, troubleshoot technical issues and ensure colleagues have the equipment and tools they need to work effectively.
You'll gain exposure to a wide range of IT support activities, from setting up laptops and mobile devices to responding to support requests and assisting with equipment management. You'll interact with colleagues across the business, providing support in person and through phone, video, chat and email.
This isn't just about fixing technical problems. You'll learn how IT supports a global professional services business, develop your problem-solving skills and gain practical experience working within a collaborative, fast-paced environment.
**What will you be responsible for?**
-------------------------------------
You'll support the day-to-day activities of L.E.K.'s Service Desk team by:
* Providing first-line IT support to colleagues across the firm through phone, video, chat, email and in-person interactions.
* Assisting with the troubleshooting and resolution of common hardware, software and device-related issues.
* Supporting the setup and configuration of laptops, mobile devices, workstations and other IT equipment.
* Helping with IT processes for new joiners, internal moves and leavers, including account creation, equipment preparation, distribution and collection.
* Maintaining accurate IT equipment inventories and assisting with equipment tracking and management.
* Supporting regional technology upgrades, equipment replacements and device maintenance.
* Working with colleagues in other offices to coordinate laptop setups, configuration and reimaging when required.
* Assisting with supplier and warranty arrangements for equipment repairs.
* Responding to IT support requests in a timely and professional manner, keeping colleagues informed of progress and following issues through to resolution.
* Contributing to wider IT projects, team initiatives and process improvements as opportunities arise.
**Who are we looking for?**
---------------------------
We're looking for someone who is curious about technology, enjoys solving problems and is eager to gain practical experience in IT support.
You'll be approachable, organised and comfortable interacting with people at different levels of the business. You'll have a positive, can-do attitude, a willingness to learn and a genuine interest in helping others.
You don't need extensive professional IT experience. What matters most is a solid foundation in everyday technology, strong communication skills and the motivation to develop your technical knowledge.
Ideally, you will bring:
* A genuine interest in IT, technology and technical problem-solving.
* A basic understanding of PCs, laptops, tablets, mobile devices and peripherals, as well as operating systems including Windows, Apple iOS and Android.
* An eagerness to learn about new technologies, software, hardware and IT processes.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain information clearly and patiently.
* A friendly, helpful and customer-focused approach, with good listening and interpersonal skills.
* Good organisational skills, attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
* A proactive, self-motivated attitude and the willingness to take ownership of assigned tasks.
* The ability to work collaboratively within a team while also showing initiative and independence.
* An openness to feedback and a desire to continuously learn and improve.
Previous experience in a customer-facing role would be beneficial but is not essential. Relevant studies, qualifications or training in IT or a related field would also be advantageous.
