As a Software Development Tester co-op student, you'll gain hands-on quality assurance and testing experience while applying concepts from your coursework to real-world technical challenges. You'll work alongside experienced developers and software testers who will mentor and support your growth throughout your placement. You won’t be observing from the sidelines. You’ll be learning by doing, designing test suites, executing automated and manual testing, and contributing to quality assurance for infrastructure that runs in production at scale. What You’ll Learn ----------------- * Gain hands-on experience with QA processes, testing tools, and product architecture through mentorship. * Learn how to design and execute test plans and test cases for product features. * Develop skills in identifying, investigating, and clearly documenting software defects. * Build practical experience across functional, regression, performance, and usability testing. * Learn to collaborate with Developers and SREs to troubleshoot issues and validate fixes. What You Will Bring ------------------- * Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Computer Science, Software Development, Computer Engineering, or a related field and eligible to participate in a co-op or internship program through your university * Strong understanding of programming fundamentals, data structures, and algorithms * Experience with at least one modern programming or scripting language (e.g., Python, Java, C++, Go, JavaScript, Bash) * Understanding or coursework covering operating systems (OS), networking concepts, and cloud platform architecture * Familiarity with virtualization technologies, hyperconvergence concepts, or containerization (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) * Coursework, personal projects, hackathons, or hands-on experience related to software testing, test automation, or QA methodologies * Familiarity with version control systems such as Git * Clear written and verbal communication skills in English * Curiosity, ownership mindset, and strong desire to grow Whether you've built projects in class, participated in hackathons, contributed to open-source software, or simply love solving technical problems, we'd love to hear from you. Work Arrangement ---------------- On Site: This role is based on-site, offering the opportunity to collaborate face-to-face with team members in a dynamic and engaging work environment. The pay range for this position at commencement of employment is expected to be between CAD $ 30 and CAD $ 35 per hour. However, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a sign-on bonus, restricted stock units, and discretionary awards in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered.
