Stage - Developing an AI Model from Finite Element Data for Electric Motor Control f/m - Strategic S

Meylan, France
2026-10-24

Role Description

**Company Overview** Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software. **Start your career with the Strategic Student Program (SSP)** The Strategic Student Program is our formal internship program globally. You will be mentored by guides and gain invaluable professional experience. At Siemens, SSP interns get access to an international student network and community, career development opportunities with professional growth pathways, comprehensive practical training throughout the program, access to the Siemens Learning Hub and other training materials, and the opportunity to collaborate on exciting projects within a global, diverse team. **Topic:** Create AI models from FEA to be used with system for electric motors. **Position Overview** We are seeking a motivated student intern to contribute to cutting-edge machine learning. You will join the Simcenter Flux development team. You will oversee developing a new method to train a reduced order model of Permanent Magnet (PM) electric machine from Simcenter Amesim. This model will come from Finite elements computation with Simcenter Flux. The goal is to have a model based on the geometric parameters of the motor. **Key Responsibilities** * Create DOEs from PM motor model to create reduced motor model (using Park transformations) with Simcenter Flux, * Train one AI model to generate a valid model for Simcenter Amesim, * Create Simcenter Amesim model of an electric car from battery, inverter to the electric motor. The electric motor will follow urban cycle (like WLTP) to define its efficiency, * Create an optimization (with Simcenter HEEDS) to find out which set of geometric parameters defining the rotor is optimal to maximize efficiency, * Compare with a more traditional method (create a loop for optimization with creation of reduced order model then use it in the system to check its efficiency). **This internship of 6 month is based in Meylan (38) and will start from January 2027.** **Qualifications** Currently pursuing higher education in engineering (BAC+5) in France, with focus on electromagnetism, energy, electrical engineering, machine learning, system simulation or finite elements analysis * Demonstrated background in electromagnetic simulation * Knowledge of permanent magnet electric motors and their drive * Experience with machine learning is a plus * Fluent in both French and English, enabling effective team collaboration * Ability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively with mentors and team members **Why Us** At Siemens Software, flexibility is how we work—hybrid by default, built on trust and autonomy. Together, 30,000 people across more than 200 countries build technology that shapes the real world. You will grow through real projects, strong technical peers, and global mobility, backed by the scale and benefits of an industrial software leader. We're committed to equality and inclusion, and we hire based on merit, skills, and impact. Bring your curiosity and creativity and help us shape tomorrow! **Diversity & Inclusion** We value equal opportunities and welcome applications from all talented individuals. At Siemens, we believe people who've had real experiences dealing with being different will excel as leaders. Let's foster a culture of creativity and innovation. We are an equal opportunity employer and do not discriminate based on race, religion, color, national origin, sex, gender, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, marital status, veteran status, or disability status. **Internship stipend** This Strategic Student Program internship offers a gross monthly stipend of 1,200€ plus meal vouchers. Additional benefits include access to the Siemens Learning Hub, professional development opportunities, and mentorship from experienced professionals. **Siemens Software. Transform the Everyday** #SSP
