Role Description
**Company Overview**
Siemens Digital Industries Software is a leading provider of solutions for the design, simulation, and manufacture of products across many different industries. Formula 1 cars, skyscrapers, ships, space exploration vehicles, and many of the objects we see in our daily lives are being conceived and manufactured using our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) software.
**Start your career with the Strategic Student Program (SSP)**
The Strategic Student Program is our formal internship program globally. You will be mentored by guides and gain invaluable professional experience. At Siemens, SSP interns get access to an international student network and community, career development opportunities with professional growth pathways, comprehensive practical training throughout the program, access to the Siemens Learning Hub and other training materials, and the opportunity to collaborate on exciting projects within a global, diverse team.
**Topic:**
Optimization of Electrical Machines: Multiphysics analysis, software automation and leveraging AI
**Position Overview**
We are looking for a 6-month intern to join our R&D engineering team to contribute to the development and promotion of our electric machine design and optimization tools.
Siemens provides advanced Multiphysics optimization solutions designed to engineer high-performing, innovative electric machines while significantly reducing design times. The objective of this internship is to extend these optimization capabilities by introducing new ready-to-use solutions covering different physics, such as electromagnetics, mechanics, or thermal analysis. The new solutions cover finite element simulation and the exploration of AI-based approaches. Following this, you will demonstrate these new features by building examples that showcase their usage and their benefits. For testing, you will be involved in developing software automation.
Working within a multidisciplinary team, you will enjoy a rewarding work environment that encourages both collaboration and autonomy.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Transfer existing solutions for Multiphysics analysis into a new framework
* Assure connectivity between the newly developed solutions and our optimization software by creating workflows including the new approach
* Explore AI-based prediction of physical fields, such as motor stress or magnetic field distribution, as alternative to conventional finite element analysis
* Create presentations, documentation and demo models to showcase your work
* Be involved in both manual and automated testing of the new software solution
**This 6-month internship is based in Meylan (38), and starts from January 2027.**
**Qualifications**
Currently pursuing higher education in engineering (BAC+5) in France, with focus on mechanical engineering, electromagnetism, machine learning, finite element analysis or electrical machine design.
* You are interested in or familiar with simulation methods.
* You have knowledge of electric machines or in one of the following fields: electromagnetism, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, thermodynamics, acoustics.
* You are comfortable with programming, particularly in Python.
* You have strong teamwork skills and the ability to take on responsibilities.
* You are autonomous, proactive, and rigorous.
* Fluent in both French and English, enabling effective team collaboration.
**Why Us**
