Working Student (m/f/d) Semantic Continuity within Concept Modelling workflows
Role Description
We are currently hiring for an exciting opportunity as a Working Student (m/f/d) – Software Engineer in Computational Geometry to join our team.
The 3DMODSIM Technology department at Dassault Systèmes specializes in the computational geometry field. Our team is dedicated to developing advanced algorithms related to various geometrical and mathematical operators (such as offset, partitioning of volumes, and topological operations) on high-quality surfaces and volumes to serve various brands of Dassault Systèmes.
Are you passionate about algorithms, mathematics, and computational geometry? Do you have a keen interest in developing robust geometric operators for cutting-edge CAD applications? We are looking for a proactive student who loves to solve complex technical challenges and takes the initiative to build innovative solutions. If you are eager to learn from senior engineers and bring a hands-on approach to software development, we would love to collaborate with you to shape the future of design and simulation!
**Role Description & Responsibilities**
* You will work in a team dedicated to developing geometrical operators for a CATIA application, allowing designers and analysts to create and validate full workflows—from initial design creation to automated simulation results assessment.
* You will participate in enhancing the design validation workflow by identifying design semantics and preserving them at different steps of the process.
* You will understand currently used mathematical operators and their limitations, suggesting new enhancements and participating in the definition and implementation of new proofs of concept.
* You will write clean, efficient, and well-documented code under the guidance of senior engineers.
* You will support debugging and resolving software defects while performing functional and regression testing to ensure software reliability.
* You will collaborate closely with engineers across international teams (German & French teams) to understand requirements and translate them into technical tasks.
**Qualifications**
* You are currently pursuing a Bachelor's or a Master's degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related technical field.
* You have prior exposure to or dedicated coursework in Computational Geometry (highly preferred).
* You bring strong programming proficiency in at least one major language, preferably C++.
* You are familiar with standard geometric concepts (curves, surfaces, filleting, and Boolean operations between them) and have an understanding of geometric topology.
* You understand the challenges related to numerical robustness and handling degenerate geometric cases.
* You are fluent in English.
What's in it for you
* Flexible working hours with the possibility to work partially outside the office.
* Learning from and working with highly qualified, dedicated, and diverse international teams.
* Possibility for professional development in many different domains within our 3DEXPERIENCE University and LinkedIn Learning programs.
* Additional benefits & perks such as Urban Sports Club membership (because who doesn't love staying fit while having fun?) and of course, unlimited coffee, fruit, and drinks at the office, we’ve got you covered ;)
