Diesel Generator Technician

Roles and Responsibilities of a Diesel Generator Technician: 1\. Routine Maintenance and Inspection - Perform scheduled maintenance on diesel generators. - Inspect generator components such as engines, alternators, and control panels. - Check and replace fluids, filters, and belts as per manufacturer specifications. 2\. Troubleshooting and Diagnostics - Identify and diagnose mechanical and electrical issues. - Use diagnostic tools and software to troubleshoot generator problems. - Determine root causes of failures and recommend corrective actions. 3\. Repair and Overhaul - Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, starters, and control systems. - Overhaul generators to ensure optimal performance and longevity. - Test repaired units to confirm proper functioning. 4\. Installation and Commissioning - Install new diesel generators at client sites. - Configure and test generators during commissioning. - Ensure compliance with safety and operational standards. 5\. Documentation and Reporting - Maintain detailed records of maintenance, repairs, and inspections. - Prepare reports on generator performance and service history. - Follow safety protocols and document safety inspections. 6\. Customer Support and Communication - Provide technical support and advice to clients. - Explain maintenance procedures and operational guidelines. - Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns. 7\. Compliance and Safety - Adhere to health, safety, and environmental regulations. - Follow manufacturer instructions and safety protocols during work. - Ensure all work areas are safe and clean. 8\. Inventory Management - Manage spare parts and tools inventory. - Order parts and supplies as needed for maintenance and repairs. **Additional Skills** - Knowledge of electrical systems and control panels. - Ability to read technical manuals and schematics. - Good problem-solving and communication skills. - Physical fitness and ability to work in various environments. - And additional work as management assign.
