Product Design Intern

Location: Pune, Maharashtra / Hybrid Type - Internship Role Overview We are looking for a creative and analytical Product Design Intern to join our team. This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate who is passionate about translating complex technical requirements into elegant, user-centric physical products. You will work at the intersection of hardware and human-centered design, helping us bridge the gap between engineering constraints and a seamless user experience. Key Responsibilities * Concept Development: Ideate and sketch initial product concepts, focusing on form, function, and ergonomics. * CAD Modeling: Create detailed 3D models and assemblies for prototyping and eventual manufacturing. * Prototyping: Assist in building physical mockups and high-fidelity prototypes to test fit, finish, and internal component layout. * Usability Testing: Plan and conduct user research sessions to gather feedback on physical interactions and hardware-software interfaces. * Technical Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams to ensure designs can house compact electronic components without compromising aesthetics or durability. What We Are Looking For * CAD Proficiency: Hands-on experience with industry-standard 3D modeling software (e.g., Fusion 360, SolidWorks, Rhino, or Shapr3D). * Analytical Mindset: Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills; you should be able to identify design bottlenecks and propose creative solutions. * User-Centric Focus: A foundational understanding of Usability Testing and the ability to iterate designs based on objective user data. * Communication: Ability to articulate design decisions and technical constraints clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Preferred Qualifications * Wearable Tech Interest: A strong interest in designing wearable technology and "near-body" electronics. * Component Integration: Experience or interest in "packaging"—the art of fitting sensors, PCBs, and batteries into ergonomic, minimal enclosures. * Material Knowledge: Basic understanding of injection molding, 3D printing materials, or textiles.
