IT Support Technician
Role Description
**About the Role**
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented IT Support Technician / Junior System Administrator to join our team. This role is ideal for a student or recent graduate in Computer Science or Network \& Security who is eager to gain hands-on experience in enterprise IT environments.
The selected candidate will support daily IT operations, assist users, and contribute to system and network administration tasks in a professional and collaborative environment.
**Key Responsibilities**
**Technical Support**
* Provide Level 1 technical support to end users (on-site and remote)
* Troubleshoot hardware, software, and network issues
* Support workstations, printers, and peripheral devices
* Document incidents, solutions, and procedures
**System Administration Support**
* Assist in managing Windows 10/11 and Windows Server environments
* Create and manage user accounts in Active Directory
* Support Group Policy (GPO) implementation and troubleshooting
* Monitor system performance and assist with maintenance
**Network Support**
* Assist in maintaining network services (DNS, DHCP, VPN)
* Troubleshoot connectivity and TCP/IP-related issues
* Support secure network configurations and access control
**Deployment and IT Operations**
* Assist with OS imaging, software deployment, and updates
* Support endpoint management and patching processes
* Maintain IT documentation and operational procedures
**Security and Compliance**
* Follow IT security policies and best practices
* Ensure data confidentiality and integrity
* Support access control and authentication systems
**Qualifications**
**Education**
* Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a DEC or equivalent program in Computer Science, IT, or Network \& Security
**Technical Skills**
* Windows 10/11 and Windows Server
* Active Directory and Group Policy
* Basic networking (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)
* Microsoft 365 (basic knowledge)
* Virtualization tools (VMware, VirtualBox)
* Basic Linux administration
**Assets**
* Knowledge of Configuration Manager (SCCM)
* Cisco certifications (CCNA or equivalent)
* Experience with SharePoint or cloud platforms (Azure, Intune)
* Interest in cybersecurity
**Soft Skills**
* Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
* Effective communication skills (English required, French is an asset)
* Ability to work independently and in a team environment
* Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
